Keeping Christmas Traditions Alive

There's no denying that Christmas is not what it used to be. Traditions are being lost in a high tech world. But still many crave to keep some of part of the traditional Christmas alive. And one way to do that is through the use of traditional decorations.

Naturally the first place to start is with a beautiful Christmas tree. And one great tradition is the making of decorations for that tree. Sure you'll want some lovely store bought ornaments, but why not supplement those by making some decorations yourself. This is a great family activity as well.

Start by popping some popcorn and stringing it together to make garland. Of you could make a chain of red and green paper. These are things many of us did as kids and it's a great tradition to keep alive.

If homemade isn't your thing, you can always get some old fashioned decorations for the house. Visit your local thrift stores or antique shops and you are sure to find some great items. You'll see was ornaments or blown glass ones, just like you saw as a kid. You may even find some old tins with Christmas themes.

Of course under the tree you'll want something the kids will love, so why not check out the top 10 toys for Christmas. One toy you're sure to find on the list is the Baby Einstein Takealong Tunes.
