Winter Is Coming

It's October, and that means winter is right around the corner. We've already had some winter like weather to kind of whet the appetite so to speak. Although today it was in the 70's. In any case, I took some time today to begin getting out my winter wardrobe.

Going through my sweaters immediately told me it was time to get some new ones. This year I decided I'm going to treat myself by getting a couple of mohair sweaters. I check on the prices and boy are they expensive, which is why I'm only getting one or two. But when I felt them at the store I decided I have to try it. They felt warm and so lightweight.

Problem is, I didn't find one today that I really liked. So tomorrow it's time to check out the online stores. Hopefully the prices will be a little better. I'll let you know when I'm stylin'.

Drinking Wine From A Paper Cup

So I went to a friends house the other night and he suggested we crack open a bottle of wine. Naturally I agreed. He gets the bottle and comes into the living room where we're watching the World Series, and pops open the bottle. I can smell it right away and I'm looking forward to my first glass. He then hands me a paper cup. A PAPER CUP?

I couldn't believe it and asked him where his stemware was. His response; What is stemware? OK, so I understand he's primarily a beer drinker, but come on.

After I explained to him how he should be drinking wine, the best he could come up with was a couple of beer glasses. Maybe a notch above paper, but not much. Somehow the wine didn't taste as good.

Am I a wine snob? No way. I actually probably couldn't tell a high priced wine from one that's moderately priced. And I don't drink it that often. But next time I go over I think I'll stick to beer.

Looking For A Strong And Durable Tape?

I understand this sounds like a really crazy thing to write about, but if you've ever taped a box for shipping or used a tape outside only to watch it come apart, then you'll appreciate what I've discovered.

OK, so I didn't really discover it, but it's new to me. I'm talking about acrylic foam tape. I learned about this out of frustration more than anything else. Scotch tape, quite frankly, just wasn't doing the job of securing things like I wanted. And duck tape could really get messy.

I needed something strong that could withstand the elements. And I found it. I was so excited I even made a Squidoo lens about it. Check it out. You'll be amazed at the number of uses I've found for this stuff.

I'm Making A Change

OK, so this blog has been sitting idle for a few months and quite frankly, I have to idea what to do with it. Or at least I didn't until now.

You see, just writing blog posts here on various topics was quite limiting. I prefer to go into much more depth on most topics.

So here's what I'm going to do. Anytime I make a new webpage (more in depth than what would be posted here), I'll simply announce it here.

So in my next post, you'll see more of what I have planned.
